Here are some top tips to make reading fun - learn to read the Peppa way!

Read stories every day at different times and in different places. Young children thrive on variety. There is a wide range of Peppa Pig books and other materials available to help you read with your child, from flash cards to activity books.
Sound books, such as Peppa's Noisy Boat Trip, help children enjoy sounds and words. Books with animal sounds and characters are always a firm favourite. Oink Oink!

See if you can match something in the story to an event in your child's life. For instance why not plan a trip to the library after reading about Peppa's first adventure there.
Talk about the story before and afterwards with your child. Ask them to choose their favourite characters... do they like Peppa best or her little brother George? All children love stickers - use them to help remember parts of the story or certain words - good practice for memory and re-call.

Talk about the pictures and ask questions. Look at the front cover and ask 'What do you think this story is going to be about? What is Peppa doing? Do you like playing football?' If your child cannot read the words, encourage them to look at the pictures and tell their own stories.
Most importantly, make reading fun. It's best not to ask children to read if they are tired or not in the mood. Go at their pace and remember a little bit of fun always helps children learn quickly!

Keep up the bedtime story, and let your child choose which story to hear.
