Max et Mathilde live in a small town in the South of France. They live in a pretty house just outside the centre of town with their mum and dad (maman et papa!) and little twin brother and sister, Louis et Lili. They have a dog called Noisette and a cat called Bijou who sometimes fight but mostly get on well - just like Max et Mathilde!

Just like you, they go to school which they enjoy most of the time, apart from the homework! They have lots of friends who come round to play in the garden or on the computer, to watch television and to generally hang out.

In fact, probably the biggest difference between Max et Mathilde and you is that they speak French rather than English. And where you might be learning to speak French at school, they're learning English. They know it can be fun learning a new language especially as it means you can chat and play with children your own age from different countries.
