Ladybird Live!
Ladybird Live!
Thank you so much to everyone who took part in Ladybird Live on 2nd June. We had an incredibly successful day with 1500 storytelling events taking place around the UK within nurseries, libraries and bookshops so that's almost 45,000 children who enjoyed a storytelling of The Gingerbread Man! Big thanks to everyone who organised an event and for supporting Ladybird's initiative to get the nation reading and to inspire the next generation of readers. We would love to hear how your event went on our Facebook page.
Our helpline was busy throughout the day with educational experts Justine Smith and Geraldine Taylor on hand to answer all parents' queries. If you didn't manage to call in on the day and would like some advice on reading with your child, then check out our Advice and Resources section or visit Gurgle.com where you can find the webchat that our experts took part in.
And there is more to come!
Our Picturehouse Cinema tour is ongoing. BBC radio's favourite poet Murray Lachlan Young will be live in the cinema, and on screen Liza Tarbuck, Toyah Wilcox, Sally Phillips and children's TV presenter Andy Day will be reading classic fairytales. Visit the Find an Event page for a complete list of venues hosting the tour and bring your little ones along for an hour of merriment and mayhem!
For ongoing advice on reading with your children and up to date information on new books and events, follow Ladybird Books on Facebook and Twitter or sign up for the Ladybird Newsletter. You can also share all your photos from Ladybird Live on the Ladybird Facebook page.
